When Amanda Sefton began to crack under the pressure of life at the school, she faced a choice - what is right, and what is easy.

Arc Summary
Amanda's actions at the Hellfire Club in rescuing herself and Manuel finally brought her to the attention of Selene, who up until then had accepted Alphonso de la Rocha's assessment that she was of little value. However, by draining Selene, all that changed, and the Black Queen started looking at Amanda very, very carefully. Recognising Amanda's potential Selene sought to take advantage of it by recruiting her to be her Black Knight. She had a foothold in Amanda's psyche already by virtue of the draining, but it wasn't strong enough to simply control Amanda, and a mindless puppet isn't what Selene wanted. So instead of using her magic, she used her cunning, and basically presented the better argument.
With the departure of Pete Wisdom following the murder of Alphonso de la Rocha, the estrangement from her boyfriend (and Alphonso's son), Manuel de la Rocha and increasing distance from Nathan Dayspring and Moira MacTaggart as they dealt with the birth of their daughter, Rachel, Amanda found herself increasingly isolated. A powers accident with her adopted sister, Meggan Szardos, caused by her addiction, caused her to tip over the edge and accept Selene's offer of tutelage.
The culmination of the arc was Amanda using a healing spell to Heal Remy, draining life energy from several people without permission. She was expelled from the school and eventually fled to the Hellfire Club - and Selene, to accept the position of Black Knight. There was a catch - in order to prove her loyalty to Selene and the Black Court, there was a test, requiring her to do something she probably wanted to do in her deepest fantasies; kill Jubilee.
With Jubilee's life and Amanda's soul hanging in the balance, it took the actions of all who loved her to bring her back from the brink.
Arc Plots
Shadows Fall: An attempt to rid Manuel of the last of Selene's influence is rather more complicated than anticipated.
Little Girl Lost: The past never stays dead - an old face from Amanda's past turns up, but this time he's after Meggan.
Buy Now, Pay Later: Charlie Plunder is a nice, normal boy with a fascination for the occult. Meeting him changes the lives of Remy, Amanda and Forge.
An Offer You Can Refuse: When she fires her magic tutor, Dr. Stephen Strange, Amanda receives an offer of instruction from a most unforeseen source - Selene.
Just One Drug: When the amulet that maintains her powers is broken in an accident, Amanda decides to go cold turkey until a replacement is made. It's a choice that nearly leads to disaster and sets in motion a chain of events that none could have foreseen. Except if your roommate is a precog.
High Cost Of Living: When Remy is brought back to the mansion near death after the confrontation with Malice, Amanda risks everything to save him, using what Selene has taught her.
Lost In The Woods: During the ceremony to induct Amanda into the Hellfire Club as Selene's Black Knight, there is more than one surprise, as the plans of a year come to fruition.

Mother Askani sacrificed herself to revive Alison Blaire, who had been drained to near-death by Selene. Amanda barely survived the process herself.
Amanda left the school after the end of Lost In The Woods and returned as part of X-Force in May 2006.
