Moment of Awesome - Topaz: Caught in the collapse of Avalon, Topaz wakes to find herself very far from home. It was cold. That was the first sensation that came back to Topaz as she groggily stirred, lifting her head to look around. She was surrounded by bits and bobs of fallen artifacts and broken shelves. What- Oh. Right. She’d blown up Avalon. And taken herself down with it. She pushed herself up to sit, shivering. “Amanda?” Her voice felt very small. “Kyle? Doug? Anyone?” No answer. No answer because they had all gotten out ahead of her. She took a small bit of relief in that. Her bag was a few feet away. She reached over to pull it toward her, sifting through it. Her phone had, miraculously, survived the fall. No signal, of course, but her headphones still had charge, and she could at least fill the time with music for a bit. She’d have to ration, though. Who knew how long she’d be here. If anyone was even coming back. What if they thought she was dead? They probably couldn’t even get through. She’d seen the door close with what felt like finality. So find your own bloody way home, a voice in the back of her head said. No point sitting around feeling sorry for yourself. Right. She turned off her phone for now to preserve power, stood, and took a deep breath. She wasn’t going to find an answer just sitting around. Time to get to work.
