Plot Summary
Visiting New York from Alaska with her mother, newly manifested telekinetic Madelyne Pryor was accosted by Avalanche who had discovered a new way of robbing banks; threatening young mutants into doing the dirty work for him. At the same time, Doug, on the way to a double date with Jubilee, Wade and Marie-Ange, received a phone call from a contact, whose brother was one of Avalanche's earlier victims, and agreed to look into things, discussing the matter with the others. Some digging revealed Avalanche's scheme and his latest target and while Doug and Wade broke into the bank vault themselves to rescue Maddie, Jubilee and Marie-Ange took on Avalanche himself. The girls perhaps had the easiest task, as Avalanche was taken down and left tied up outside the NYPD. Wade found himself being bitten by a ferocious teenager and the three only got out of the vault in time barely in time before the alarms went off again.
Finding themselves back at the Snow Valley offices with a frightened and confused Maddie, the boys called in the experts, with Jean and Haller coming to take Maddie back to the mansion. Her parents agreed it was the best place for their newly-manifested daughter, and she wound up staying.
