Manuel is an empath, a type of [[Psionics| psi]], able to both perceive and manipulate the emotions of others, extending to some higher-intelligence animals such as horses. His receptive range is approximately five kilometres, and he by necessity must use a portion of his power and his attention in shielding himself from the emotions of others.

As of her time entering the game she has only just begun to manifest the mutation, and she is still learning to control the various aspects of it. Sooraya Qadir is a young Afghani girl with the ability to turn herself into sand. Taken and sold by slavers as a young girl, she was 'bought' and freed by Nathan Dayspring during an Elpis fact-finding mission and brought back to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Quiet and modest according to her culture, Sooraya has spent the last two years working on her English and her powers. An unexpected reunion with her mother in 2007 gave her the impetus to continue her schooling and return home for the summer, however she plans to return to Xavier's in the 2008 new school year.

Sooraya's mutation is the ability to turn her body into a cloud of sand and control the direction/velocity of this cloud, as well as reforming at will. As of her time entering the game she has only just begun to manifest the mutation, and she is still learning to control the various aspects of it. When she gains control over the mutation, it is possible she could do damage with it (much like having the person she attacks stand unshielded in a severe sandstorm), as well as using it for infiltration/stealth purposes.
