Biography
“When I was eight, I hunted my first bear. Big grizzly. That was 1922, in the Yukon, and he kept us through a cold winter. In Spain, I fought bulls and fascists-- and I let the bulls live. In Nepal, I hunted the Tiger God and killed all fear in me. I've fought queen of dreams and the world’s secret master. I've fought demons in hell and stolen their thrones-- and those thrones haven't bound me. And it all comes back to one thing. I was eight, full of bear meat and adventure -- and I made a vow, Mr Creel. I vowed I would live an interesting life. I think I've done okay so far, eh?” -Eugene Judd
Childhood
Eugene Judd was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in the winter of 1914 though his family moved to the Yukon Territories shortly after. His mother had an impressive collection of literature, including Jules Verne and William Shakespeare, which she would read to Eugene as a child. His favorites though were the treasure hunting adventures of Alan Quartermain by H. Rider Haggard. With nothing else to do but read and hunt Eugene became quite proficient at both. By the age of eight he was familiar with his mother’s entire collection and managed to kill a grizzly bear on a solo hunt. It was then that he swore to himself that he would always live an interesting life and would seek great adventure like his literary heroes. Once he began traveling the world he picked up skills like Yoga in India and meditation in Tibet though neither tempered his love of a good brawl.
World Traveller
While in India when he was 21 he saved the children of a small village from a death cult. The next year he spent eight months in Egypt trying to track down the Ark of the Covenant though with little success. In 1937 he gained renown as a bullfighter in Spain where he met the author Ernest Hemingway and was drawn into the Spanish Civil war. Working as a soldier of fortune in 1939 Eugene was tasked with stealing the Black Blade of Baghdad though first he had to defeat its owner, the demon sorcerer Raazer. With the world being drawn into World War II Eugene kept the blade for himself and found himself fighting in both the European and Pacific theaters. The next three decades were similarly filled with periods of Eugene getting involved with military conflicts interspersed with other raucous adventures. He fought in Korea and Vietnam and tells stories of fighting the Brass Bishop, hunting the Tiger God of Nepal, defeating the mutated monster Chinook, and even claims to have died and fought his way back out of Hell. Occasionally he would try to settle down or put down roots but every time something would disrupt it causing him to return to the life of adventure.
Mercenary, Prisoner, Mutant and Department H
By the early 1990’s Puck was part of a mercenary group of mutants called the Outcasts who had little care for the safety of innocent people. During a particularly violent mission Puck killed an innocent man and it shocked him out of his violent ways. Wracked with guilt Eugene took responsibility and turned himself in to the Canadian authorities and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. After the events of Liberty island Puck was approached by James “Mac” Hudson of Department H who had a proposition for him. A routine genetic screening had identified Puck as a mutant and Hudson’s research found Judd’s numerous military records. As a model inmate for ten years Puck was offered a conditional release and his military rank would be reinstated if he agreed to work with Department H in the defence of Canada. For years Puck worked with James Hudson and his wife Heather training super-humans and deploying them in the field. Despite the efforts of Puck and others involved there were some failures and the Flight program was suspended. In 2012 he was inserted into Genosha to covertly investigate rumors of mutant enslavement which led to revolution within the country. For the two years leading up to M-Day Eugene was sent to monitor a group home for mutants called Hull House in Orloo Ontario. Working as groundskeeper and handyman he befriended many of the children there and he was greatly distraught when many of the kids there were consumed on M-Day. Keeping his Department H status he would do any mission Mac or Heather asked of him while going on his own solo adventures when not needed.

“Hey, if you don’t mind, not a ‘midget’, eh? First off, we’re called ‘little people’ these days. And second, I’m not a midget, I’m a dwarf. The condition is called achondroplasty. It involves lack of growth in all the long bones, eh? Ah, but you probably knew that.” *punch* -Eugene Judd
Physical Description
Eugene was on his way to being quite tall until his mutant powers kicked in during his teens and he began to shrink back down reaching 3’6” by his mid 20s. In order to explain his size and not out himself as a mutant he usually claims to have achondroplasia, a common cause of dwarfism. He lost his hair at an early age and often neglects to shave for weeks at a time so he usually has a beard or at least a mustache and 5 o’clock shadow. Due to his extremely dense muscles and broad shoulders he can appears nearly as wide as he is tall allowing him to cartwheel quite easily.
Powers
Eugene’s entire body has compressed and taken on the tensile strength and elasticity of vulcanized rubber. He cannot stretch or elongate himself at will but if enough force is applied his bones will bend rather than break and his organs and skin will stretch rather than tear. His skin is incredibly hard and dense making him impervious to regular firearms and blades and resistant to fire, acid, radiation and temperature extremes. His elasticity allows him to take incredible hits or falls and literally bounce around the battlefield rebounding off solid surfaces and opponents without injuring himself. His muscles are so dense and resilient that he has a degree of enhanced strength, endurance, speed and agility. He can lift 1 ton and push himself to double that, he can sprint up to 50 kph over short distances and can acrobatically tumble as fast as an Olympic athlete can run. The individual cells of his body and its processes are so resilient that he’s approximately four times more resistant to toxins and poisons and overcomes diseases and heals four times faster than an average person. The resilience of his body has also slowed his aging to something similar to reverse dog years aging only one year for every seven. Because of this he appears to only be in his late 30s even though he is over 100 years in age.
Skills
In over 100 years of living he has picked up a number of skills and knowledge on a number of subjects. Growing up in the remote Yukon Territories he is an expert hunter, tracker and survivalist and he has hunted bears, fought bulls and wrestled alligators. He is a master of several martial arts and combines them with street fighting techniques as well as his own invulnerability and extreme acrobatic skill to be a completely unique combatant. Globetrotting for decades he has picked up 17 languages including English, French, Spanish, Russian, Italian, German, Mandarin, Japanese, Tibetan and others. Working as a mercenary for various organizations of the 20th century he is familiar with many espionage agencies, their techniques and equipment. As such he is proficient with various weapons and firearms, can drive anything from a motorcycle to a tank and fly all kinds of aircraft (assuming he can reach the controls). Drawn to adventure and finding the occult he has picked up esoteric knowledge about magic, witchcraft and various supernatural topics. Using meditation he can slow his metabolic processes enough to appear dead requiring very little oxygen and keeping himself alive long enough to heal when he does get injured. On top of all of that he is essentially the Forrest Gump of heroes, he has traveled so extensively that he almost always “knows a guy” in any place and has probably interacted with any hero, spy, mercenary or government agent of the past century.
Equipment
Over many decades of adventure Puck has established caches of equipment and collections of artifacts stored all over the world. Mostly mundane items of purely sentimental significance he has occasionally found a mystical artifact the most powerful of which he has turned over to his friend Michael Twoyoungmen to keep them out of the wrong hands. The only true artifact he has always kept nearby is the Black Blade of Baghdad.
