Moment of Awesome - Bobby Drake/Iceman: On a hot summer's day, Bobby and Miles talk bro-talk. And are bros.

The can flew through the air and would have smashed against the wall if Miles didn't have superhuman reflexes and held up his hand at just the right second to catch it. He popped open the tab and lazily pulled himself up so he was sitting upright and wouldn't spill any soda on himself. He drained half the can and belched loudly in appreciation and gratitude.

"HE SHOOTS HE SCORES!" Bobby yelled out, surprising even himself with his loudness in breaking the silence. "Hah, nice catch Milesy. I'll make a goalie out of you yet dammit." He took a victory gulp and then let out his own belch in reply, a crude toast between bros if you will.

Not one to pass up a challenge, even one made up in his head and not actually presented in real life, Miles promptly took another large swig of his drink to fuel an even louder, deeper burp. His expression made it clear just how proud of it he was. "Yeah, like any of us has the time to do sports at school. Do they even have a hockey team?"

"Dude speak for yourself, I sports a lot." Which might have explained some of his grades, but Bobby wasn't about to get into that. "And no, I don't think so, which sucks." He would've been all over that for sure but alas. "It's too hot to sports though, ugh." Bobby upped his powers a little to adjust for the heat.

Miles shivered and sighed contentedly as the temperature continued to drop. "Wait, are you on a team at school? How come you haven't told me? I'd come to one of your games."

"Nah, I mean, I play a lot but not at school. Playing with myself mainly." Uh. "I mean, with myself." Bobby. "By myself?" Silence. "You could play with m-" No, no that's not better. "Man, it's too hot for wordsing too. And braining."

"Just text me if you're playing with yourself so I don't walk in on you accidentally." With two teenage boys, it was a wonder that they hadn't had that problem yet. Miles at least hoped that his spider-sense would warn him in time should it ever come close.

"Dude, if you put a sock on the doorknob when you're with someone else, what do you put on it when you're... y'know." He sought out a good analogy. "Polishing Lord Stanley?" Bobby didn't seek long enough, clearly.

He squinted and looked up at the ceiling, the hamster wheel squeaking and turning. "Maybe, like, a hat? Or no, wait, a glove!"

"I mean, if you want to announce to the world that you're, you know." Miles made some vague hand gestures. "I thought the point of the sock is more to brag than to warn anyone not to come in. Not like, you know, we've had to." Beyond Miles's brief aborted attempt with Roxy, he'd come up dry all year. "You don't have a secret girlfriend or anything, do you?"

"A secret one? Nope." One at all? No to that as well but Bobby left that part out. "Someday, though, Milesy. Someday we'll hang a sock on that door." He turned his head to look at the door and sighed. "But not today, for today it is too effing hot."
