| Renee Nguyen: Orphaned during the Srinagar disaster in 2008 and living with her strict grandfather in California, Renee Nguyen discovered she could summon and control ghostly ‘friends’. Terrified of her own mutancy, Renee kept her powers secret, until her increasingly rebellious behaviour brought her to the attention of school authorities who talked to her grandfather about things. Summoning her ‘friends’ during an argument, she was sent to Xavier’s for a time to learn to control her powers. She returned to California after a year, continuing her training through the West Coast Annex.
