About

Karen "Frito" Lawrence is currently an active player of X-Project. She began playing Marie-Ange Colbert in May of 2003, and Kyle Gibney in October of 2004. She currently acts as one of the admins for the Xproject wiki, and has been a mod of the game twice previously, retiring from her most recent tenure as a mod in April 2017. She also hosts and maintains the webpage and is generally responsible for dealing with the technical end of any of the webpage-y things for the game.

A former resident of Baltimore and the Washington DC Area, she now lives in San Marcos, CA (a bit north of San Diego) - she hates snow and shoes, and loves seafood, tea and math. She lives with Twiller and their son "Typechip", born in February 2014, and has a truly astounding number of stuffed animals for someone who is in her forties.

She also claims to be 1/4 allosaurus.

Kyle takes Yvette outside by piggyback and shows her the garden. Mnemovore: Angelo raises concerns on x_team about Nathan and Jean-Paul when they fail to arrive in Tel Aviv as arranged; Angelo asks the general journal population if there's been any messages from Nathan or Jean-Paul, lying to cover when Johnny shows concern; Forge emails Angelo, querying his tactics; Scott puts the team on alert when it becomes clear from Charles that neither man is with their phones; Jean-Paul's psionic destruction continues; Lil emails Jake to see if he's heard anything; Wanda tracks down Jake when he disappears, not coping with the news. Scott stops by Adrienne's suite bearing gifts and they talk over a game of chess. 2013: Somewhere I Belong: Tandy can’t find Topaz early in the morning and shares her concern with Kurt who is in the hallway, and they get Adrienne to read Topaz’s abandoned phone in order to find out what happened to her; Adrienne calls Amanda to share the fact that Topaz took off to meet with a British man, and when Amanda realizes it’s Taboo she gets Adrienne to wake up Scott while Kurt goes to bring Amanda to the mansion in order to organize a rescue party; Amanda, Kurt, Scott, and Logan go to fetch Topaz and Amanda unleashes some of her power on Taboo to scare him into leaving Topaz alone; Scott and Amanda grill Topaz about her decision to go with Taboo but decide to let her off the hook until the morning; Amanda and Haller try to get Topaz to talk about what happened in the morning but she refuses to tell them what happened with Taboo. North and Adrienne go shopping to buy him a motorcycle and Adrienne asks him an uncomfortable question relating to her relationship with Garrison. Moment of Awesome - Clint Barton/Hawkeye: With Matt Murdock acting as assistant, Clint is in his element assisting in repairs on an alien spacecraft. Until he comes across the truth of the crash. "Huh . . ." Reaching out, he shoved himself deeper into the console with his feet and began plugging the wires back into their helpful array of varied gray plugs. At least the grays had identifiable differences in shade and matched the plastic covering the wires. Almost immediately a mechanical voice announced, "ALERT, ALERT, INVADERS!" in what was likely several languages. Matt stiffened, tugging Clint's foot hard as he stood up. As the alert continued to blare that same voice emerged from some hidden speaker beside the two men, now addressing them exclusively in English. "Terrans," it said with unusual urgency from what was so clearly a synthetic voice. "Listen. We were boarded. They waited until my crew were in cryosleep to move. I jumped us to quarantine the infection, but –" A blast of energy, so close to Clint he could feel the heat of it on his cheek, struck the console. Voice and alarm both cut off with an electric squeal. "Clearly a malfunction," said the overseer, staring at the two men with unblinking eyes. He had not lowered his gun. Clint sat up slowly, hands visible as he moved from his position within the console to standing beside Matt. "Yeah," he said, gripping his brother's forearm so his fingers were hidden from the apparent invaders. "Totally weird malfunction," he agreed affably, tapping 'fight' against Matt's inner wrist in Morse code with one finger. "AIs can be like that, though, especially when there's onboard damage like what we're seeing here." Subtly, Matt shifted his weight, pulling out his billy clubs and springing to action, the sounds and smells of the aliens shifting as he moved. What else was going to happen? Matt was an excellent person to break things though. Fixing them? Not so much. There was no perceptible signal exchanged – the aliens simply went from unnerving attention to moving almost as one, and as they moved they changed. Skin hardened to chitin as broadly human features stretched into masks of multifaceted eyes and protuberant teeth. As they rushed the two men the bridge was filled with a rush of sound almost like the stridulation of locusts. "Oh gross," Clint muttered, releasing Matt's wrist. "That's just entirely unnecessary," he continued, already reaching for his pockets to see which coins would be most useful considering the way the fake crewmembers were shifting. "We've got bugs," Clint said, making sure his brother could hear him. "Pretty heavily armored," he said, already aiming quarters at several creatures' eyes. "Eyes are a vulnerability," he said a moment later as compound eyes on three creatures shattered inward. "Void random limbs. Dunno if they can inject poison or anything." Fifteen seconds later, one of those scorpion-like tails went through the gravity controls.
