Victor is the only child of Richard, a high school history teacher, and Linda, a fourth grade teacher. He was born and raised in Fairbury, Illinois, a town with a population of roughly 4,000 in northeastern Illinois. Victor has been a visible mutant all of his life--he's green, has a spiky carapace and a long, prehensile tongue. However, his parents worked hard to make sure that Victor had as normal a life as possible, and on the whole, he's been accepted by the other residents of Fairbury.

Victor's mutation is reptilian in nature. Since birth, he's had green, scaly skin, a spiky carapace, and a long, prehensile tongue. His tongue, fingertips and toes are all sticky and allow him to crawl up walls, which was all sorts of fun for his parents when he was a toddler.
