Inez Temple: Inez is the daughter of John Paul Temple, a former Texas Ranger turned criminal in order to pay for his dying wife's medical bills. She was raised on the run, until she manifested super strength and durability in the middle of a gun battle between her father and her U.S. Marshall uncle. Unable to provide her with the training she needed, Inez's father staged his arrest in a bank robbery and eventually Inez was sent to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Brash and confident, Inez saw herself as the leader of the New Mutants, although her personal perspectives on right and wrong and her temper would often get her into trouble.
