Biography
Childhood
Victor is the only child of Richard, a high school history teacher, and Linda, a fourth grade teacher. He was born and raised in Fairbury, Illinois, a town with a population of roughly 4,000 in northeastern Illinois. Victor has been a visible mutant all of his life--he's green, has a spiky carapace and a long, prehensile tongue. However, his parents worked hard to make sure that Victor had as normal a life as possible, and on the whole, he's been accepted by the other residents of Fairbury.
His childhood was fairly uneventful, although he and his parents spent summers traveling around the U.S. Because of this, he's fairly well-traveled, at least domestically. He's also fairly well acquainted with prejudice from his time on the road, and because of this he has worked hard to be as disarming and friendly as possible when meeting new people.
Victor's fairly idyllic adolescence was disrupted after the events of Day Zero, when a local anti-mutant group emerged in nearby Pontiac, Illinois. After some local unrest, his parents began to fear for Victor's safety, as his mutation is impossible to hide. Victor's parents had corresponded with Professor Xavier previously, as they had gotten in contact with him after seeing the documentary produced on the school, but at the time they'd decided that there was no reason to send Victor to Xavier's--his powers were well-managed and he was fitting in well at school. However, after receiving some specific threats, Victor and his parents agreed that it would be best for him to attend Xavier's to finish his high school education.

Victor came to Xavier's in August of 2009 and became roommates with Johnny Gallo.

Powers
Victor's mutation is reptilian in nature. Since birth, he's had green, scaly skin, a spiky carapace, and a long, prehensile tongue. His tongue, fingertips and toes are all sticky and allow him to crawl up walls, which was all sorts of fun for his parents when he was a toddler. His hands and feet each have a weight bearing capacity of roughly 50 lbs, and his tongue 5-10 lbs. He also has increased speed, reflexes, agility, coordination and balance. Victor has adaptive camouflage, but doesn't realize this yet, as he doesn't have conscious control over it. It currently only manifests under extreme duress.
