Plot Summary

Xavier’s is at war, whether or not they wish it. There is little to no official help they can receive. Even sympathetic allies point out that there is no proof of Genoshan involvement, and the US simply can’t charge a trade partner for kidnapping on hearsay. More so, there is another disappearance around the world of people tied to the mansion: Moira MacTaggart reports to Charles that her daughter Rachel Dayspring has disappeared in the last few days without a trace. Genosha has decided that the mansion needs to be kept in check, and has decided it is worth risking kidnapping foreign nationals to do so.

There is simply no way that the state of affairs can continue. In a meeting, a plan is devised to locate and rescue their captured people. X-Force, and to a limited extent, X-Factor will infiltrate the island and work towards identifying the locations of the captured staff and students. Once they have a reasonable plan of attack worked out, the X-Men and remaining field ready volunteers will strike quickly into Genosha, retrieve their people and get out. Remaining students will be sent to Muir for protection, and the WCA personnel will move to the mansion as the backup team with Xavier.

The teams sent inside Genosha begin to pick up useful intelligence, as well as rumours of mutant sightings outside of the enclaves. They also make contact with the very nascent underground movement which is trying to get mutants to safety.
