Cecilia Reyes a medical student at Columbia University, was forced to leave there and come to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters after being outed as a mutant in the wake of the massacre there. Pragmatic and driven by her lifelong goal to become a doctor, Cecilia found the madness of the school difficult to deal with. She developed a close friendship with Xi'an Coy Manh, the librarian, and with the other doctors, but her world view was shattered with the hatching of Lockheed the dragon from an egg brought back from Asgard. Unable to deal with such affronts to reality as she knew it, Cecilia moved into an apartment in nearby Salem Center and continued her studies, although her lack of focus on developing control of her powers may one day come back to haunt her.
