October was a busy time for the mansion. Darcy Lewis and Laurie Collins got caught in a feedback loop during an intimate moment, and when Darcy made mention of it on the journals (blaming herself), there was some amusement and not a little concerns, given Laurie's powers and history. The reaction caused Darcy to become extra protective of Laurie; Laurie herself used the incident as an excuse to take some time away from the mansion - Darcy accompanied her to a monastery in Nepal and left her there for a meditation retreat. However, she didn't remain and instead made her way to Madripoor to meet with a doctor about some unsanctioned experimental treatments for her arm and instead found - and made a deal with - Nathaniel Essex. In the meantime, Kevin Sydney got the truth of the incident from Darcy and made her attempt to lie a training exercise.
A mission to protect government property went extremely badly for the X-Men when an expanded Brotherhood of Mutants not only gained the upper hand against them, but revealed the government property they had been protecting was actually a Sentinel - a mutant-hunting robot. In the aftermath, Laurie called in a team of experts to help Sooraya recover her human form, while Theresa Cassidy got snappy while waiting for news about Kyle Gibney's condition and Monica Rambeau got help from Alison Blaire to recharge enough to become solid again after having her powers drained. In the meantime, Marie-Ange Colbert had a meeting with Kevin to ask about certain activities against the West Coast Maggia in the wake of the discovery their leader was a Hell Lord.
Two weeks after the Sentinel disaster, X-Force called in reinforcements to Baltimore when an investigation of mysterious deaths turned into a major disaster when a disgruntled nature spirit, tired of the polluted bay, attacked the city with giant crustaceans; while the X-Men and the Avengers teamed up to protect the city and Namor, Alani Ryan and Meggan Szardos tried to negotiate with the spirit, X-Force kidnapped and sacrificed a politician responsible for the pollution. Doug Ramsey had an allergic reaction to the ritual, possibly due to his nanites, Amanda Sefton upset Topaz and Clea by being overprotective again and Kevin introduced Darcy to the 'fun' task of body disposal.
Finally, two days before Halloween, Darcy received a mysterious book during her run of the X-Force drop points, which she handed to Topaz. The book turned out to be a 'gift' from Satana, but Avalon's magical field disrupted the deadlier spell Satana had placed on it, but instead the effect was enough to trap various residents in classic horror movie tropes, with no idea of who they were until the spell ended. That alone would have been bad enough, but when the book tried to teleport away, it instead punched a hole through the pocket dimension of Avalon that would lead to it collapsing.

Oct 4 - Arise, X-Man: Darcy visits Laurie at her request and gets given some rather intense information.
Oct 5 - Arise, X-Man: Darcy posts about a power mishap, much to the amusement and incredulity of some people. Terry texts Darcy to find out what happened and asks why Doug is yelling about Wade and tacos. Darcy texts Doug to apologize for being a terrible person. Laurie texts Darcy about Artie being the kind of person she'd warned Darcy about.

Oct 7 - Jubilee posts about uncomfortable underwear.
Oct 8 - Arise X-Man: Kevin pulls apart Darcy's "oops" story, turning it into the start of a teaching moment. Doug and Darcy talk about their feelings like adults and it sucks.

Oct 10 - Terry asks Darcy about shopping, and it gets a little overwhelming. Terry texts Kyle about his thoughts on being covered in chocolate.
Oct 11 - Nica uses National Coming Out Day to come out as asexual. Terry emails Sue for help regarding a showcase she's trying to organize. Alani reminds everyone that Christopher Columbus sucks. Maya reinforces the message. Topaz posts about a totally random library inventory audit. Jean and Darcy talk about powers.

Oct 13 - X-Men Mission: Lone Sentinel: Cyclops posts an all-call alert about an emergency situation; the X-Men scramble at the request of SHIELD regarding an attack by Magneto and the Brotherhood on a government facility; Marvel Girl is the first to engage and quickly discovers things are not what they seem; Psylocke is working her way towards Magneto when the telepathic switchboard goes down and she finds herself under attack; Blink is the next to come under fire; Nightcrawler scouts ahead and discovers an uncomfortable situation with his biological mother; Wolverine has made it to the party to try and turn the tide, but finds his opposition ready for him; Dust finds an enemy uniquely suited to dealing with her sand form; Spectrum discovers that a form she thought was invulnerable very much can be endangered; Echo discovers that her powers aren’t always enough; Wildchild comes across an entirely unknown member of the Brotherhood, much to his regret; it comes down to Cyclops to try and bring down Magneto; Bevatron has multiple surprises waiting for him as the last X-Man standing; the X-Men come to grips in the aftermath of their defeat; Laurie posts about a medical emergency; Amanda texts Marie-Ange about heading to the med lab; Hope A. posts about available food.
Oct 14 - Tayammum: Laurie emails Sue and Molly about an emergency situation; Sooraya is stuck in sand form, and no one can figure out how to bring her back, or if she's even there. Terry texts Darcy, stressed. Angelo comforts Terry. Bobby pays Clarice a 'get well' visit.
Oct 15 - Tayammum: Sue emails Doug about helping Sooraya; the plan to reach Sooraya is put into motion. Betsy is disgusted about being beaten by Toad.
Oct 16 - Maya asks Terry if she needs anything. Gabe delivers food to the med lab. Nica asks for help recharging her powers and Alison lends a hand.
Oct 17 - Tayammum: With a little help, Sooraya finally manages to regain her human form; Laurie posts an update about Sooraya, and thanks everyone for their help.
Oct 18 - Terry text’s Darcy about Kyle waking up, and discusses her emotional state. Alani helps Sooraya to recover from her time stuck as a pile of sand. Arise, X-Man: Laurie posts about heading off to a meditation retreat in Nepal. Darcy travels with Laurie to help settle her into the monastery and learns more about Laurie's arrival at the mansion.
Oct 19 - Jubilee posts about wanting to climb a mountain for a cup of tea. Marie-Ange makes a punishing joke. Darcy texts Marie-Ange about taking time off to go with Laurie. Darcy texts Doug about doing something when she’s back. Terry texts Laurie apologising for the way she snapped during the medical crisis. Jean posts to her journal to thank everyone, and to note that people are healing. Marie-Ange confronts Kevin about decisions he’s made to leave her in the dark on certain jobs.
Oct 20 - X-Men: Lone Sentinel : Jean-Phillipe posts to his journal rather than the teams journal with a mission wrap. Kyle comments to his journal while high on pain medication.

Oct 23 - Terry posts about her Taste Testing Extravaganza, a food crawl around District X’s many restaurants and food trucks. Doug and Darcy have their long delayed first date. Felicia posts an Instagram image about getting over the hangover from her birthday the previous day, Alani posts about needing adult friends to drink with.
Oct 24 - The Taste Testing Extravaganza is a smash hit, everyone comes home with groaning bellies but happy smiles. Darcy posts about having eaten too much. Potomac Calls to Chesapeake The magic crew go to Baltimore to meet a local coven as the city is having some unusual issues.
Oct 25 - Potomac Calls to Chesapeake: Amanda, Topaz, Megan and Clea perform a ritual with the help of the Baltimore coven and it goes sideways, teleporting Megan and Clea elsewhere; Megan and Clea end up finding bodies at the spot they were teleported; Topaz calls in the rest of X-Force to investigate; Marie-Ange and Topaz check in with Randall, a medical examiner MA knows, to talk about mysterious drownings on dry land; meanwhile, Doug and Gabe check out Lexington market only to have a rather watery problem; Jubilee and Artie decide to investigate Fells Point and chat up locals about the weird floods; Amanda and Darcy check out Baltimore’s most infamous tavern and rule out some theories while coming up with next steps; Gabe posts to the X-Force group text about the floods and sudden influx of crabs; the X-Men get called out to Baltimore to deal with the rampaging sealife; Darcy gets a text from Terry about the call out; Terry texts Kyle asking him to stay safe; several hours later Jean-Phillipe puts out an all-call to the mansion, asking for help. X-Men vs Crabs, Round One: Wildchild and Echo wrangle crabs and get to use a firehose; Psylocke and Spectrum have their own, rather more electric way of dealing with the sealife; meanwhile, Cyclops and Dazzler trip the light fantastic with both lasers and eye beams; Wolverine, Blink and Dust cooperate to herd crabs right into a kill box. Team Water Amanda, Topaz, Megan and Clea get caught up in the fight and make a decision; Namor, Meggan and Alani then take on the task of trying diplomacy with the nature spirit causing the issue. Teamups The Avengers arrive in the city and team up with the X-Men to help out; X-Force plans a murder in the meantime, and then gets down to brass tacks with a ritual to appease the spirit; Doug has an unfortunate allergic reaction to the ritual, and Gabe and Jubilee are given the task of finding the spirit a new home at the local aquarium; Darcy goes with Kevin to clean up the dead body, then texts Laurie afterward for some comfort.
Oct 26 - Topaz sends texts to America and Clea about Baltimore and the argument with Amanda. Fourteen asks Doug about his arm going transparent. Topaz and Amanda have an argument over appropriate levels of concern during death rituals. Doug posts about his arm going transparent. Arise, X-Man: Laurie travels to Madripoor and ends up meeting Essex, not the person she was expecting. Doug and Darcy and Doug and Marie-Ange check in with each other after events of the previous day.
Oct 27 - Kevin takes Jean on a perfect autumnal birthday outing.
Oct 28 - Laurie posts about returning to the mansion. Kurt and Alani put up some Halloween decorations, mostly of the un-spooky variety.
Oct 29 - Sue texts Hope A. asking about whether she passed. Quentin finds Gabriel trying to beat a demon in the Danger Room and they talk. Angelo and Molly look for Halloween costumes, mainly the unfortunate sexy factor. Monster Mash: Darcy picks up a mysterious package from an X-Force dead drop, and then hands it off to Topaz.
Oct 30 - Kyle posts a literature joke. Clarice posts about getting enough sleep.
Oct 31 - Molly is excited for Halloween. Monster Mash: The Halloween House Party starts at the mansion for all residents; Felicia posts her costume to the journals before heading off for drinks; Marie-Ange, Angelo, Jubilee, Jean and Gabriel find themselves trapped in a Mummy movie; Arthur, Meggan and Molly wind up in a Zombie movie, with Nica and Maya as the undead; Kyle, Darcy, Bobby, Alani, Alison, America and Artie all find themselves trapped in a Werewolf movie, and America fights the pack; Darcy is the mad scientist in a Frankenstein scenario, with Kurt her assistant and Doug the Creation, and Matt and Bobby local police investigating; meanwhile, Felicia, Wanda, Topaz and Kevin enjoy drinks far from the mansion shenanigans; Alex, Amanda, Betsy, Emma, Namor and Terry find themselves in a somewhat over the top Gothic Vampire movie; Topaz and Wanda get home just in time to have Avalon explode magic at them. Molly posts about Halloween not being a good time. Arise X-Man: Laurie goes to see Essex at his labs in New York, meets his son and begins treatment.
