About

Karen "Frito" Lawrence is currently an active player of X-Project. She began playing Marie-Ange Colbert in May of 2003, and Kyle Gibney in October of 2004. She currently acts as one of the admins for the Xproject wiki, and is currently a mod. She also hosts and maintains the webpage and is generally responsible for dealing with the technical end of any of the webpage-y things for the game.

A former resident of Baltimore and the Washington DC Area, she now lives in Escondido, CA (a bit north of San Diego) - she hates snow and shoes, and loves seafood, tea and math. She lives with Twiller and their son "Typechip", born in February 2014, and has a truly astounding number of stuffed animals for someone who is in her thirties.

She also claims to be 1/4 allosarus.

Tandy posts about the reactions to her wanting to buy another castle. 2017: Hope A. emails Topaz about her experiences in the diplomatic training program. Sooraya and Angel reminiscence about an old friend over apple pie. Reed emails Sue about being invited to attend a NASA conference. 2018: Gabriel manages to track down Kevin in his "retirement" and is dissatisfied by the response he gets. 2019: Nica posts about finally getting her power levels back up and asks Molly if she’s okay. 2020: Jean wants something, but isn’t sure what. Molly posts about her new job at a tea shop. 2021: Maya shares a TikTok to correct language and pronunciation. Mortimer Toynbee's Electric Funkedelic Boogaloo: At Yvette's birthday party, Toad and his cohort, Mister M, release an aerosol form of Kick into the air; the Kick impacts on Laurie and Megan's powers first, releasing a burst of happy vibes and sparkly pixie-dust; everyone at the party is impacted, getting happy and huggy; Yvette hugs Toad and accidentally cuts the strap of his face mask, subjecting him to the atmosphere; Kyle and Laura's healing factors kick in and the alarm is raised; Sarah V. is flirty with Callie; Garrison mentions the alarm on the x_team community and is confused. 2012: Matt and Hope meet in the library and discuss Matt's homework before straying to more serious topics. Jean-Phillipe leaves a package of chocolate-dipped apples, bananas and strawberries for Yvette for her birthday; Angel leaves Yvette a shirt that says Life is Good; Sooraya leaves a basket of apples with an apple-shaped necklace on Yvette's bed. Doug leaves Terry a photo and a note saying he owes her a day of "Not Think About It" for her birthday. Megan and Tandy meet in the rec room. Tandy has a training session with Scott that results in a trip to the med lab. Yvette posts thanking everyone for the gifts and birthday wishes and reflects on not being a teenager anymore. 2013: Wade posts about his grocery lists being maimed. Angel witnesses Rachel murdering the punching bag, before dragging her off to the pool for a distraction. Rachel texts Haller from Angel’s phone about killing said punching bag. 2014: Second Thoughts: Jean meets a Gabriel Cohuelo who tries to rob her but at the end she offers him a home. Doug helps Sue work through some issues she had after the run in with the Dweller and Spite.

Moment of Awesome - Paige Guthrie/Husk: In the wake of their imprisonment in Fairyland, Paige and Jono Starsmore (finally) realise they're attracted to each other. As soon as Jono and Paige set foot in the room they'd booked for the night his arms were tight around her, shaking hands cradling her head to his shoulder. He had the distinct impression of a man who wanted to cry but couldn't seem to let the wetness around his eyes fall. The stress of the situation hadn't left him yet. He was still tense, still wary, still looking over his shoulder, thinking through every word he heard as if it might have ten different meanings he'd never thought of before. He was still scared. "Gods Angel, you scared the fuck out of me. I'm so happy you're alright I could kiss you." Paige hugged Jono back just as tightly. He clearly needed it and the pressure helped with some of the residual overstimulation from being iron for so long. “Hey, it’s ok! I’m here and we’re safe and- wait…say that last part again?” She couldn’t possibly have heard him correctly. Paige pulled back slightly to look him in the eye. Jono stiffened a bit. Oh....he hadn't realized he'd thought that out loud. Well.....between this and having accidentally sent her the wrong playlist...he couldn't exactly hide from it anymore. "...I said I could kiss you. Which is stupid because it's not physically possible and obviously not something you want." Paige frowned and almost shook Jono out of frustration. “What do you mean obviously? I’ve been into you for a while! Of course you could kiss me!” How dare Sam be right she not figure it out sooner? "I'm sorry, what?" Jono asked, trying to keep his mind quiet and still. How embarrassing would it be to project things on accident right now. "I don't even have a mouth! How could I kiss you? It's stupid." “I don’t know, we’ll figure something out!” Paige moved her hands up to cup Jono’s face. “Maybe I can kiss you instead?” "No go back. What do you mean you've been into me for a while?" Jono thought. It was probably a good thing he didn't have a heart anymore, it would have beat out of his chest by now otherwise. “You're hot, Jono. Of course I’m into you!” It had been obvious to apparently everyone else, she thought Jono just wasn’t acknowledging it. “…Did you really not notice??” "I thought- you weren't responding to when I was flirting with you and then I thought you were a lesbian because of the carabiner thing and so then I wasn't flirting with you and then I found out you were bi and by that point I knew how guys in your hometown treated you like some sort of fucking Barbie doll and then I felt bad for liking you when you wanted a friend and- no....I didn't." I made you meals for an entire week when you were tired....also we've already covered that I thought you were flagging, we don't have to bring up me being an idiot again." Jono's brow furrowed when she stepped away and took her hands in his, squeezing gently. "I...just thought you didn't feel the same." Paige turned bright red and covered her face. “I... am a fucking idiot, oh my god.” Her siblings were never going to let her live it down. Or her cohort. Or her friends at the mansion. Fuck, how was she this stupid?? "You are not an idiot." Jono said firmly. "Don't ever say that again."
