About

Karen "Frito" Lawrence is currently an active player of X-Project. She began playing Marie-Ange Colbert in May of 2003, and Kyle Gibney in October of 2004. She currently acts as one of the admins for the Xproject wiki, and is currently a mod. She also hosts and maintains the webpage and is generally responsible for dealing with the technical end of any of the webpage-y things for the game.

A former resident of Baltimore and the Washington DC Area, she now lives in Escondido, CA (a bit north of San Diego) - she hates snow and shoes, and loves seafood, tea and math. She lives with Twiller and their son "Typechip", born in February 2014, and has a truly astounding number of stuffed animals for someone who is in her thirties.

She also claims to be 1/4 allosarus.

September 1 PHASE 2 2015: Sooraya and Professor Xavier talk about the new universe in which Sooraya needs some advice. Bobbi notes that if one is going to sing in the car make sure the windows are rolled up. Clarice posts this picture and asks who can get her into the Marc Jacobs book release party or does she have to crash it. Maya meets Adrienne. 2016: At a local comic convention, Stephen animates a Lego Harry Potter figure at Molly’s request. Miles finds Gabriel thinking about taking his GED and Gabriel finds out about Miles and his girlfriend having sex. 2017: Tabitha emails Alison to let her know she’s leaving. 2018: Angel emails her friends, Scott, and the professor about her mother receiving death threats, and her plans to return to Seattle. Terry tells Alison about her new relationship with Bobby and then fights with her about telling Jay that Tommy is in medlab; Terry announces that Tommy is the mystery patient; Bobby rescues her from dehydration whilst she's running it off. The Gates: Nate and Angelo discuss goings on in the Czech Republic, plan to go to Tel Aviv and discuss Angelo starting team stuff. 2007: The Winding Way: XF and Kurt track down Margali in her stolen body and after a brief fight, return her to the camp; Margali is eventually convinced to undo what she's done and the effort proves fatal. 2008: Razor's Edge: After overhearing a conversation between Dr. Marcel and the Elpis people, Yvette runs off to confront the man who took her from the state orphanage two years ago, with Angel going with her to help; the group discovers the two girls are missing and tracks them to a warehouse, where they have been caught by the mutant smugglers; a fight ensues, Kyle gets shot and Laurie gets sliced up trying to stop Yvette; the group leaves in a hurry, with Dr. Marcel patching up Laurie and managing to keep Elpis' name out of official channels. A returned Catseye visits Nathan and re-meets Rachel. Callie goes walking in the woods with Catseye. 2009: Rush: Johnny receives a phone call from his estranged father telling him he would like to be in Johnny's life again; a boy named Ritchie buys a substance from a youth named Carver at a rec centre to aid a school wrestling team; Johnny talks to Jean-Paul about his wariness over having his father back in his life. Catseye brings Nathan and Rachel a kitten from the shelter where she volunteers. 2010: Operation: Lie Back and Think of England: Remy summons X-Force to a meeting following a call from Pete; Remy reveals Pete wants them to investigate some irregularities in the recent English election surrounding a man called Dexter Bennett and something called the Mosley Initiative; Doug, Jubilee, Amanda and Sofia arrive in Melton-Mowbray in England to investigate the election irregularities there. Crystal posts about her plans for the new school year and how the three former Xavier students in Attilan are doing. 2011: 2012: Sonatorrek: Fred Duncan gives Garrison and Brand an assignment in Minnesota - identifying a biker who might be Thor; Garrison announces his assignment and how he doesn’t know when he’ll be back to the X-Men. Angel announces her return home. Angel and Sooraya have tea and Angel apologizes for her bad decision-making. Angelo and Artie meet on the back porch to talk about Artie’s future and Angelo mentions trying to help him get up in the film business. Maddie welcomes Angel home with a text message. Sooraya and Yvette share some friend time. Matt and Billy meet. 2013: Laurie e-mails Clint asking him to remind the other students about archery class. Wade leaves Laurie a basket of cookies. Clint sends Maddie a text reminding her about archery class and suggesting they go for pizza after. 2014: A newspaper article is posted about Julian’s father going to jail.

After being seated, she waited for the maitre'd to leave before truly looking at the restaurant around them. "Lord, it really is lovely here." She couldn't think of any anniversaries or special occasions that would call for this sort of evening, but Terry also hadn't really thought about them much after they started the drive. "Are y'goin' t'give me a hint about what's brought us out tonight? No' that we need a reason, o'course." Instead, first, Kyle drank his water. "No reason for tonight, I guess, but not no reason?" Water was great, he took another drink. "I've planned this a lot. So much. Ter, you have no idea how many times. I am so glad you don't see how many times Marius has made fun of me. Including this weekend." He paused. "I was gonna do it this weekend, and then I couldn't be that much of a cliche. I couldn't. Valentine's Day is a ..." He fumbled a little, and went into his suit pocket and brought out the little pinecone, wrapped so carefully in white tissue paper shot through with gold. "You see me. I mean. You know me, and you've seen me at my worst, and you know me at my best, or the best I am right now, and you make sure I'm not running myself into the cracks, and you never hesitate to tell me I'm neglecting myself, but you also - you get why I do what I do, teaching and the institute work and the team." He nudged the little pinecone, fingers stiff with sheathed claw. "You tell me when I'm doing good work and you believe in what I'm doing and you give like, so much of your time to people, and you jump both feet right into caring for people and you make me a better person. That's really what it is, we make each other better people. We're a team. I mean, we're on the team but we're a team." "So. I wanted to make this us, and not because of the date, or a holiday and don't ask me how many times I had this pinecone in my pocket and ready to just ask, and couldn't make the words come out, and today felt right. So." He pulled on one delicate edge of the tissue paper, to show a glint of metal. "The first time we met, this pinecone was in my pocket and I couldn't tell you why I saved it then, but I've been saving it for years now, so that I could have it when I asked you to marry me." Getting down on one knee was not something a person rehearsed, except one billion times in their head. "Will you marry me?" Terry had been teasing, sort of, about why they'd gone out to such a posh restaurant, but then Kyle had started talking and her eyes had widened. They'd continued widening until she'd needed to blink and when he said he'd kept the pinecone for years so he could have it when he proposed -- tears welled up in her eyes as her hands covered her mouth. Then he'd asked and he was on one knee and he'd -- his claws were retracted and the way she loved him was just the same as breathing, natural and easy and so, so necessary. "Yes," she said, standing up from the chair she'd so recently sat down in. Reaching for his hand, Terry cupped his in her palms and stared at Kyle with bright, happy, teary eyes. "Yes, yes -- I'll marry you, y'wonderful tree of a man." Then she tugged on his hand until he stood. "I love y'so much." "Okay, but there's a ring on the pinecone." Kyle's voice came out quiet and a little rough, deep baritone with nervousness and emotion. "A really good one. I had help. I don't want to rip the paper though." He wiggled his fingers against Terry's hands. "I love you so much."
